My fitness Challenge:Week 3

Hey everyone, I hope you all are well.
I had my wisdom teeth removed (all four) so my dentist said to refrain from physical activity. That combined with the fact that I haven't really eaten in a while plus the painkillers and swelling has made me weak, but hopefully I'll be feeling better soon.
But this does not mean you should not continue working out so I came up with this week's exercises.
Also if you are continuing the Wall Sit Challenge (good for you!!) remember we are two days behind so we'd be starting on April 11th.

Ok, now on to the exercises:
25 Squats
25 Sit ups
40 Leg Lifts
15 bird dogs
Wall sit (corresponds with wall sit challenge)
25 squats
30 Oblique twists
*If there is an exercise you are clueless about, you can use Youtube to show you how to do it.

Have fun and work hard!

Review: Chagrin Valley Butter Bar

I'm back again with another Chagrin Valley Shampoo Bar (I bought five in total), this time with the Chagrin Valley Butter Bar. I chose to use this one because my hair was flat ironed and the website said it was great for dry, processed, and heat treated hair. I ordered the sample size (1.5 OZ) for $2.70 from the Chagrin Valley website

Yes, there's a crack in my soap, but its because when I use shampoo bars I break a piece off then use that (so I don't use too much).
What it does:
"A buttery lotion bar hair conditioner and natural shampoo combined into one super moisturizing bar. Cocoa, shea, and mango butters are protective emollients that penetrate deep to provide  nourishment for the hair shaft and protection against dryness and brittleness. A great natural shampoo for dry, processed and heat-treated hair." (taken from website)
My Experience:
I sectioned my hair into four twists, then proceeded to wash. The hair in my crown area always gets matted and extremely tangled to the point where I dread detangling that section. I decided to try finger detangling while I was shampooing, and though I did not get all the tangles out (I did later when I put in my leave in), I like that this product has a lot of slip.

This is what my hair looked like after I rinsed it out. As you can see my hair is shiny and very moisturized. I also want to note that the bar has that same herbal/earthy as the Honey Bar, but of course when you rinse it out there isn't any smell.
I washed my hair April 6, and today is April 9, and my hair is still moisturized, but I do need to refresh them.

Overall, I really like this shampoo bar, and it is my favorite so far.

Have you tried any of Chagrin Valley's Products?

Moisture vs. Protein

How do you know when your hair needs moisture or when it needs protein? I've been struggling with this question for a long time because so many people have said "you will just know". That doesn't help at all, so I did some research and I FINALLY got my answer. Of course, I will share what I found so that you can know too.

My Fitness Challenge: Week 2

Welcome to Week 2 of my Fitness Challenge. Before we start, I have a confession: I missed two days last week because homework has been piling up (only 11 more weeks of school left!), but I'm ready to get started this week. Some thing I noticed was that there wasn't a good balance between abs and lower body, so this week should provide more balance.
With that said here is this weeks workout routine (in the order they will be done):
20 Squats
20 Sit Ups
1 min Wall Sit
45 Second Plank
20 Sumo Squats
30 Second Mountain Climbers

P.S. Check out this Wall sit Challenge I found and I will pretend today is April 6th, then move along.
If you want to do this with me like on Facebook or Follow me on twitter because I will be sending reminders of how long to do each wall sit along with a reminder to do your exercises.

Introducing MY Fitness Challenge

Hey everyone,
It is the beginning of a new month and my birthday is tomorrow, so I thought I would do something special this month. I enjoyed last month's "better me" challenge and I thought I'd do another one that's similar, but this one focuses on the body. Yes, this will be a fitness challenge. I'm pretty sure you have seen the 30 day sit up and squat challenge, but I looked at those and while they seem like a good idea, I know I will not have the time to be doing 250 squats in one day (at least not now, who know maybe I will later on) so I modified them. This week I will be doing a "warm up" exercise everyday, and next week I'll probable my modified versions of the sit up and squat challenges.
So this week's exercise will consist of (in the order that I will do them):

20 Squats
30 Lunges
40 Calf raises
50 second wall sit
50 jumping jacks
50 second wall sit
40 sumo squats
30 leg raises
20 squats
15 sit ups

Money saving tip: Use Ebates

Have you heard of Ebates? It's a website that lets you earn cash back from your online purchases for FREE. If you're someone who shops online a lot, you need to sign up for this.

How does it work?
First you need to sign up for an Ebates account. After that, once you are all set up the next time you make an online purchase go to Ebates FIRST, then type the name of the store you want to shop at (e.g. Target, forever 21, bath and body works). Then you will be able to click on the store and it will create a tracker to see if you made a purchase. Then go ahead and make your purchases. Shortly after you should get an email from Ebates saying how much cash back you received.

Why I love it:
Not only does this give you cash back for your purchases but when you search for a store, it shows you all the available promo codes so you save even more money.

Review: Chagrin Valley's Honey Butter Soap

I recently purchased a lot of soaps from Chagrin Valley because I've heard great things about them and I've been wanting to try shampoo bars. When I was on the website I noticed that also had bars for the body (they have a lot of other things too-hair teas, lotion bars, facial scrubs) and I was in serious need of soap that didn't irritate my skin. So I decided to buy this and see how it worked.  The reason I am doing the soap bar first is because I recently flat ironed my hair (you can see the results on the facebook page here), so I will not be using the shampoo bar for at least a week.
Keep reading for my experience with this soap.
