Aunt Jackie's Coils and Curls

Aunt Jackie's Coils and Coils
I found out about this product through Instagram, (follow me: tiatamjam), and the Knot on My Watch is what got me interested. Knot on My Watch claimed it was an instant detangler, and knowing my struggle with detangling, I had to check it out. Their website is pretty cool, it has advice about hair, and step by step instructions on their products, but I didn't find where I could buy these products. But I came across some samples, and I will review them for you all.
*Since the samples were so small, I decided to just test these products on my bang.

First up is the Oh So Clean! Moisturizing & Softening Shampoo, this is a moisturizing hair bath, and enriched with Shea butter, Coconut oil, and EVOO. I haven't used shampoo in a while because, I was only co-washing, but I thought I should try each product to give it a fair review.

What I liked: The smell (at first) it smells fruity, and I think with a hint of lemon. It was thin, and had lots of slip, so I could easily run my fingers through my hair to distribute the product.
What I didn't like: The smell, after a while the smell becomes overpowering, and I am very sensitive to strong scents. Also, this product claims to be a sulfate free product, but it did lather up and have suds. Maybe they used a different cleaning agent besides sulfates? But the samples didn't come with ingredients, nor are they listed on the website so I cannot say for sure.

After that I applied the "in control 'anti-poof'" conditioner. This is supposed to "tame, nourish, and deep condition frizzy, hard-to manage, dehydrated, brittle natural curls, coils, and waves". The conditioner is a humectant, can be used on different textures, including colored hair, and is gentle enough to be used daily. I applied this product from root to tip, then left it on for about five minutes, then rinsed out.

What I liked: It has a thick consistency, and made my hair shiny. It also smells good, like a fruity scent. I like that this conditioner can be used as a regular rinse out conditioner, co-wash, and deep conditioner, and there are instructions for each of these possibilities. However, if I were to use this as a deep conditioner, I would add some oil (like olive oil, jojoba oil, or coconut oil) to it, to really give my hair a treat.

What I didn't like: There really wasn't anything I didn't like, I feel it fulfilled it's duties as a conditioner

Next, I applied the Knot on My Watch Instant Detangler, which I was so excited to see if it lived up to its name. Knot on My Watch, uses the power of its "silky slip" to help the comb glide through hard-to- manage hair, and gets rid of tangles and reduces breakages. Instead of using a comb, I decided to finger detangle, because my hair is very thing and prone to breakage.

What I liked: The slip, my hair was very easy to comb through  and it was still shiny. I wonder if this product works so well because the shampoo and conditioner have good slip as well, which made detangling a breeze.
What I didn't like: I didn't know the ingredients of this product so I had no idea if this was made with moisturizing products, like shea butter.

Lastly, I used the Curl La La. This is a styling product/ custard, for twist-outs, braid out etc. I applied this product, then sectioned my bang and did twists.

What I Liked: My hair was very defined and shiny, and still easy to comb through. Also, the instructions are very thorough, and give steps for each type of hairstyle you want to achieve (e.g twists, tight curls, and bouncy curls)
What I didn't like: If you plan on using this for a wash and go, you need to also use a product that has some type of hold, because this has none.

Overall, I like this line because it is not expensive, I think each product is about $8-9, and I will probably purchase the Knot on my Watch and Curl La La to see how they work on my entire head, not just my bang.

Have you tried these products? Let me know what you think.
