Think about it this way, the further ahead you purchase your ticket, the less the price will be. This is because of price discrimination; airlines charge you based on your willingness to go. Let's say you purchased an airline ticket a week before, this price will be higher because they know you really have to get to that place the next week.
With that said, keep reading for some tips on scoring deals on your summer vacation.
1) Buy your ticket early
2) Groupon and Living Social- they have some great deals on restaurants, getaways, and more.
3) When buying airfare online, delete your cookies. Airlines use cookies to track how many times you've visited their website. The more times you visit, the more you pay, because they know you want those tickets. So delete those cookies.
4) Hotwire, Kayak, etc- these sites offer bundles of hotels and airfare so it will be cheaper than if you bought them separately.
5) Don't book flights on the weekends or holidays- those are the most in demand dates, so prices will skyrocket.
